The Vivacious Vizag: Exploring Andhra Pradesh’s Stunning Coastal City

The vivacious vizag                                                                {  OCT 2014}

Vizag also known as the city of destiny is the third largest city on the east coast of India. This city situated in the eastern ghats and on the coast of bay of bengal is the commercial hub of Seemandhra.

We reached there by 2 pm.After having a light refreshment we headed to our first destination the KAILASAGIRI HILLS  on APTDC  BUS.  It offered ride at a reasonable rate.We could easily locate this place as there was a big hoarding  on the hill.It is actually a must visit place if you are in Vizag, for the variety of activities it offers, like the rope way journey,

panoramic views  of beaches

toy train ride around the hilltop ,giving a 360 degree view of the city.,

mesmerising view of the beautiful city of vizag during the evening hours &
Apart from this the grandeur idols of LORD SHIV & PARVATHY ,larger than life lovely than day & night..!
one can enjoy the bliss of sunset along with the chillness of the breeze..the locals throng here as its a fun filled space to hang out with kids and family.By 9 pm we reached back to our hotel room and slept tightly.

Next day morning we got a chance to spend some time on the RK(Rama Krishna) beach. Being on beach is always a time of joy for me
.
Though the beach here is rocky ,the waves are small and can be enjoyed

and the small food stalls added to my anxiety. We munched on our  favourite snack manchurian

and polished off 2 musk melon juices from a near by stall as the sun was showering his endless love on us..

By this time the queue for INS KURSURA MUSEUM was opened .It was yet another stupendous experience one can have in his /her entire life time.

.

We were very much eager  about our visit to INS museum ,one of its kind in India..As soon as we stepped in, the ex-navy officer standing  at the entrance gave a brief introduction &  then allowed us to explore the submarine all by ourself..While we walked towards different comparments mannequins were placed to give a human touch to a complex machinery  & officers  in charge explained to us clearly about the life in a submarine  .

It was indeed a mind blowing experience and hats off for the great effort of our indian navy and the sacrifices they do, so people like us could sleep peacefully..!

We spent some time in vuda park, the park of love, did little shopping and headed back to our room after a  day'z blast............

Next day morning we set forth to have a divine experience .A temple on a hill top :SIMHACHALAM temple which is one of the most revered temple in Andhra Pradesh..

The main deity of the temple is LORD NRUSIMHA(LION-MAN INCARNATION) the 4th  avtar of LORD Vishnu. After getting a good darsan we had the privilage of getting the prasada too, the delicious pulihodara(tamarind rice).

Rest of the day was dedicated for exploring the delicacies of  andhra like

onion pesarattu(green moong dosa) served with sambhar & chutney

hyderabadi dum biriyani served with raita

SPICY ,andhra special chicken curry

  PIPING HOT hyderabadi irani tea.................

After relishing the beauty of the city and its robust cuisine,it was the moment to bid farewell to this alluring city of VISAGAPATANAM...

Cousins’ Day Out: My First Ever Bowling Experience ,BANGALORE,KARNATAKA

the blu O bengaluru days ..

It was a fine evening on march 30 th 2013 when  my brothers decided to take us(me & my hubby) to Orion mall for an outing. All my cousins joined us.It was just a cherry  on top .I was soo excited  as it was my first time to a mall in bengaluru, the city of dreams. As soon as we reached there my brother told that he was going to take us to  BLU O BALLING ALLEY.

We were really struck by the awe-inspiring beauty and arrangements available there..Once the payment formalities were finished, which was a bit expensive though,we were given new pair of socks  to wear before wearing the bowling boots which was quite impressive. The ambience was perfect  as the  name suggested, the entire area was lit up by blue dim lights and even the staff were in blue uniforms. There were  10 + lanes  which were  very well maintained. The entire area was packed  with people.Facilities include clear score boards, couch, common table and chairs  for 2 lanes, live matches of various sports were displayed on big screens and  green rooms were very clean and hygienic as well.Next moment a group left the place & in a jiffy we  occupied there couch.
As soon as we settled down, a  staff appeared with a menu and we ordered a simple sparkling lime juice.Meanwhile my brother became our coach as the  girls were not much familiar with the sport. The loud music, dim lights were  add- ons to our adrenalin rush. He taught us how to hold the ball, how to swing  it and give a perfect  strike..Amidst of which we sipped the juice which made us glued in there. We can tell you it is a stylish and ideal place for today's youth.Their new concept of  dining and bowling together, indeed is an unforgettable memory.I bet you will get bowled over once you visit this place..

..............MY FAB FAMILY..................................LOVE U GUYS..................LUV   M&V.....
                                                                                                   mar 30 2013

A Journey Through Araku Valley: Exploring Andhra Pradesh’s Scenic Hill Paradise

                             A JOURNEY THROUGH ARAKU VALLEY    {OCT 2014}

Araku, a hill station in the eastern ghats is located 114km from Vizag ,was absolutely pristine and serene. The valley is connected both through rail  and road to the city of Visakapatanam. We choose train for our journey. The first 1 hour was normal.

Once the train starts climbing the hills one can feel that sudden change in the ambience and a cool breeze  kissing  our cheeks lifting up our mind and soul.

We will pass through more than 10 tunnels which will surely add spice to our journey...

Once we reached we hired a  jeep and they took us around the lushious valley..

Our 1st destination was the BORRA CAVES where the Ramayana trio  SRI RAM LAXMAN AND SITA were supposed to be stayed during their 14 years of exile..The grand entrance itself was a feast to our eyes.

There were formations of stalactites and stalagmites..

As we walked through the deep caves there was a point where the sun himself lightened the caves and ofcourse a stop for clicking a photo..

From there  our guide took us to KATHIKI WATER FALLS..The journey was tiresome in true sense and not at all suggested for aged group and expected mothers. But we enjoyed the horrendous jeep ride through the bumpy roads too..The jeep would drop us in the foot of a hill .

From there we should cross a railway line and walk all the way  to reach  the falls

once we reach the falls we will be struck by its beauty and it will relieve us from all the sweat that we have shed ..

After enjoying  lofty waterfalls we headed towards the COFFEE PLANTATIONS .The roads were scented with the aroma of the coffee....

and the spicy pepper wines added to the  beauty of ANANTAGIRI HILLS..

We too sipped the  robust ORGANIC COFFEE made  by the tribal ladies and boosted  up ourself for the rest of our day ...

and continued our journey enjoying the rustic beauty of the hills and stopped by GALIKONDA VIEW POINT (highest point the hill offers)for some snaps..

At this spot  we  got a chance to taste this  delicious  BAMBOO CHICKEN
which was spicy as well as juicy..

".A must TRY delicacy for the meat lovers"...

Our final destination of the day was  the PADMAPURAM GARDENS.

where we enjoyed a toy train journey  after  which we headed back to vizag..............

with Grand Hills Gushing Waterfalls &  Alluring Plantations ARAKU will always be a sweet memory which we will cherish for our  entire life time...
